The cooling properties balance both the vata and pitta doshas, while the drying abilities balance the kapha dosha, according to Ayurveda. This sour-tasting green fruit is a great way to stay cool in the heat. In summer, the consumption of raw Amla keeps the body cool and protects it from the “Loo” or scorching winds that sweep across northern, eastern and central India. It can be consumed in multiple ways – in juice form, raw, in pickled form, in dried powder form, or in the form of homemade concoctions of sweet berries that are extremely beneficial to health.
2. Gulkand – Gulkand is an Ayurvedic preparation with cooling effects for all heat-related problems such as exhaustion, lethargy and fatigue, as well as burning sensation on palms and soles.
